Because moms need their me-time too

Ever since I gave birth to Lex, personal time for myself has become very scarce. Save for some trips to the salon and a couple of pedicures, I barely had time to spend pampering myself. Indeed, life as a mommy has changed me big time. Never thought it would but it did.

I haven't had a facial in ages. The last time I had one probably dates back around the time of my wedding more than two years ago. In girl standards, that's forever! So when I was invited to try out the services of a newly opened spa nearby, I immediately grabbed the opportunity!

Allura Spa & Aesthetic Center is located along East Avenue in Quezon City. There's a Chowking in the ground floor of the building so you can't miss it.

When I entered the spa, this is what greeted me.

I like that the place is clean and cozy, not at all clinical and intimidating. The owner, Marichiel Vicera, mentioned that she decorated the whole place herself.

Their menu of services is impressive. They have almost every pampering and beauty service imaginable. To name a few, they have different kinds of massages, facials, peels, scar treatments, body tightening and contouring, hair removal treatments, body scrub, and even plastic surgery! They also have available packages for sparties and bridal showers for 8-10 guests.

Before I got my facial, I peeped into the massage rooms first and this is how it looks like.

While the facial rooms look like this.

I availed of the Allura 24K Gold Facial and Radio Frequency. That gold mask you see is actually a gold bio-collagen facial mask from France. It's a super cold mask that they put on your face after a quick diamond peel.

I think the cleaning/extraction part of the facial can still be improved. I'm not sure if my face is just really clean kaya walang masyadong nakuhang dirt pero parang may nafifeel pa rin akong whiteheads after the cleaning, especially in the forehead area.

These are pictures I took during radio frequency. Ang init pala nun! My face got a little red so I had to ask Ate to reduce the heat several notches. It's my first time kaya medyo praning pa. The redness, I soon found out, goes away quickly pala. Parang naturally flushed na lang yung cheeks ko after.

This is the only picture I have of myself immediately after the facial. As you can see, medyo magulo na yung hair ko. Haha! Pero my face naman feels so hydrated! A few days after the facial, I can still feel na very moisturized siya. In fairness, naglock-in talaga ang moisture sa face ko.

The owner, Ms. Marichiel Vicera.
I'm sure you will be surprised to find out that the services offered by this spa is very reasonable. Facials range from 250-500 pesos only. Diamond peel is just 2,200 pesos for 5 sessions. Radio frequency for the face is just 2,000 pesos for 5 sessions. Hair removal treatment using Intense Pulse Light (IPL) for the underarms is just P5,000 for 8 sessions. Per session rates are also available.

Allura Spa & Aesthetic Center is open on Mondays-Saturdays from 10am-10pm. And on Sundays from 11am-8pm.

What's a birthday without a cake?

One of the things I did not stress so much about in my preparation for Lex's birthday was the cake. I really wasn't too particular about it. Sa totoo lang, a simple (and random) Goldilocks or Red Ribbon cake would be fine by me. Or kung medyo pa-special, Estrel's.

But.

I was browsing Instagram one day and a picture of a cake caught my eye. I thought to get in touch with the maker just to inquire how much a simple one-layer cake cost and was surprised to know that it's not very expensive at all! It was then I discovered that it's doable to have a cake customized without shelling out too much. Just look at it, who would have thought that cake cost less than three thousand pesos?

Lex's cake is an 8" round cake created by Michelle Teves of Cococakes. Michelle was actually my schoolmate back in college. She's a few years older than me but I knew her (as does everyone haha!) because of her Pepsi commercial. She's the girl who just moved in next door.

The cake was not served to the guests. We forgot to have it sliced! So when we got home, we shared it with our neighbors na lang. The cake is soft, moist, chocolate banana goodness. It tastes too good not to be shared. Literally, half of the cake is gone by the next day.

The real star of the party! Cupcakes by Happy Ever After Cupcakes

"Parang Pringles, once you pop, you can't stop!"

"Kung may natira pang cupcakes pakidala na lang ha lol!"

"Cute and yummy takeaways!"

Those were just some of the feedback I got about Lex's cupcake jars during and after the party. When I ordered it, I had no idea that it would create such a huge impact to the guests but it did... and rightly so! Just look at it. If you think it looks yummy, just wait until you taste it. So divine!

I think I died and gone to chocolate cupcake heaven.
Happy Ever After Cupcakes is the brainchild of a friend from college, Celene Matela-Liberato. Truth is, I didn't know that she had the artistic prowess as a cupcake artist until recently when I saw that she opened her own business selling eye-candy and mouthwatering cupcakes. Curious? See samples of her work here.

This is Celene, owner of Happy Ever After Cupcakes, who I also have the privilege to call my friend.
The goodies in the next photo are called Cupcake Jars, which actually contains cheesecake instead of a regular cupcake. It is the cutest little thing I have ever seen and it's the best cheesecake in like, everrrrr!!!

These came in three flavors: Oreo Cream, Blueberry, and Strawberry.
Celene was really a blessing to me when I was preparing for Lex's birthday. The story goes like this: I originally only commissioned her to make cupcake jars because it was my sister who was supposed to make the cupcakes. However, around latter part of December, my sister, for some reason, cannot make the cupcakes anymore. For a time, I was contemplating to just remove the cupcakes from the dessert menu since I don't know if suppliers would still take my order given the short notice. I was, at first, too shy to ask Celene if I could still order cupcakes from her because the event date is so near already. And since it's the holidays, I presume that she would be very busy with holiday orders. And I just didn't want to hassle people like that.

On January 3, barely a week before the event, I took a chance. And I'm so glad I did! She accepted my order enthusiastically and even asked if I needed something to display the cupcakes in because if I do then she would gladly lend me some wooden shelves and oh I can't stop writing about how incredibly sweet this girl is and she just really is one of my easiest-to-talk-to suppliers by far! Whew. Long sentence there.

In bullet points, let me just put down everything I love about Happy Ever After Cupcakes:
  • [Cupcake] Looks good, tastes even better!
  • Very reasonable prices. Seriously, Mon and I think that we got more than what we paid for.
  • [Celene] Super easy to talk with, very helpful, very creative.
  • Replies immediately to inquiries. This is one thing I really value when I look for suppliers.
  • Punctual! Yes, Celene actually arrived at the venue earlier than I did to help set up the cupcakes.

As I end this post, allow me to leave you with a photo of my sweets buffet.

Dressing up the venue

Before we started preparing for Lex's birthday, Mon and I had talked about how much we should spend for the party. Since this party was not supposed to happen in the first place (I was reluctant to throw one because Lex won't remember it anyway), we agreed to not go all out on my the condition that it would still be, in every way, executed in an elegant and tasteful manner.

Of course, there lies the challenge. While I normally enjoy party planning, I don't particularly like the feeling of getting excited over something and finding out that it costs waaay more than I am willing to pay.

I knew in my heart that if I ever had to throw a party for Lex, I want a professional events stylist to dress up the venue. Theme and all. I searched high and low for an events stylist that "passes my standards" but most of them seem so out of my reach. There was even one supplier I talked with who asked for my max budget only to find out that for all the elements I ask, the cost she is offering me is ten thousand more than my maximum. I mean, what?! This is a kid's party, not a wedding!

I was about to resign to the fact that I will not get everything I had hoped for for Lex's party until one day, I was carelessly surfing the internet and a picture of a stage decoration caught my eye. "How vibrant!", I remember thinking. I decided to send the supplier an inquiry, all the while having no expectations that I could afford her services.

Her response caught me off-guard. Because here, finally, is someone who can execute all my desires for Lex's party AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, within my budget!

"Oh em geeeeeee!!!!!!!!" was my literal reaction to her email. But of course I did not type that. I just, you know, screamed in my head.

There was no turning back after that. Operation Yeehaw is back on track!

We had our first and only meeting in late November to iron out the nitty gritty. But of course we have been exchanging emails since July.

Few things I learned and realized: Events stylists are very busy people. So try to understand if they can't get back to you on your inquiries immediately. Of course sometimes you have to do your part also and follow up. Another thing I learned about the party industry is that suppliers, especially those with a reputation to uphold to, will see you through until the very end, especially if you're dealing directly with the owner. What is nice about getting reputable suppliers is that you can be assured that they are professional. Why, they wouldn't have the reputation that they have if not for their professionalism, isn't it? So sit back, relax, and just pin away!

Let's cut to the chase, shall we? Meet Kris Lopez of Design Avenue.

a.k.a. my angel in disguise.
Kris is a hard worker. She is currently pregnant with twins and yet has no intentions of slowing down on work. When I listen to her talk [about her work], I can see that she really is passionate about what she is doing. She's also very open to my ideas. During the meeting, I poured out every idea I had for Lex's party, even changing the overall theme despite everything we have already settled prior to that day. But the best thing about her really is that she suggests ways to bring down the overall cost. Parang you kinda get the feeling that she doesn't take advantage of her clients and that she really wants to help them achieve their goals. Truly an angel in disguise.

So here's the result of our exchange of ideas. Of course, the ideas were mostly hers. I just contributed little things here and there.

A Pinterest-worthy design I want, a Pinterest-worthy design I got! I'm very happy with how all the elements turned out. From the banderitas to the baby cactuses to the denim table runners and letter standees made specially for Lex! My son may not remember all these yet but I believe he'd be happy to know, when the time comes, that he had a very charming first birthday party prepared with love by his Mama and Papa.

The perfect space

Baguio? Tagaytay? Nope! This is just somewhere in Metro Manila!

One look at that picture above can send me dreaming of a place far away where pine trees and pineapples grow. But since we don't wanna inconvenience Lex's guests, we opted for a place that is like that dreamy place but located right smack in the middle of the city.

Yes, you guessed it right. This is the place where we held Lex's 1st birthday party.

The place is called Cedar Crest and is somewhere inside Taguig's vast Acacia Estates. Of course this is just the facade of the clubhouse where the actual party was held.

Rental fee of the clubhouse is very inexpensive. That is one of the main reasons why we opted to hold the party there. How much, you say? I only paid around five grand for four hours use of the venue! Now isn't that a real treat?

Being inside an exclusive condominium, not everyone can hold an affair inside the clubhouse. Like how other clubhouses work, you need someone who lives inside the condominium to "sponsor" you. I guess I am just very lucky to have a friend living inside this exquisite nest.

Let's take a closer look at Lex's party.

The function hall at the clubhouse is L-shaped, as opposed to a square or rectagular one, the latter ones being better places to host parties with a program. But I actually designed Lex's party to be casual and WITHOUT a program, except of course for his dedication ceremony, because one, I don't have a lot of kiddie guests, and two, a lotta noise can be overwhelming for a one-year-old. A minibar sits on the side, which is just so perfect and in tune with Lex's Denim Cowboy theme because we made use of it for our...

I love how Kris, my events stylist, styled this area of the room!
It's so wild wild west!
The venue can house up to 120 guests maximum. Although it would be too crammed if we had tables and chairs for that much people considering all the other things we are to put inside the room. Hence we planned for just 80 guests. After the stage decorations, the long buffet table, the sweets buffet, 8 guest tables, kids' activity station, gift table, and a portion of the room where the lights and sounds specialists are, there is still adequate space for the guests to walk around in.

So there! I hope you guys like my feature for today. I'm going to talk about Lex's other party suppliers in my next posts so do drop by my blog again soon.

Have a lovely afternoon to all!

Azalea Residences Baguio

Sometime around the end of the last month, Mon and I went up to Baguio to attend a friend's wedding. It was a quick getaway, just an overnight stay, so we opted not to bring Lex with us anymore; to his grandparents' and auntie Sheila's delight because that means they get to have Lex over for a night!

We usually stay at inexpensive hotels in Baguio when we were still single and have no child. But this is because we'd mostly be out during the day and just come "home" for the night to sleep. Life has indeed changed for us this season because spending the night away from Lex will also mean that we didn't have to anticipate waking up in the middle of the night to feed! For the first time in almost a year! Alleluia!

So we I decided to choose a more special living arrangement this time. I'm hitting two birds in one stone actually as it was also my objective to check out family friendly hotels in Baguio for the next time we go with Lex in tow.

I stumbled upon Azalea Residences in Baguio during my research for top family friendly hotels in Trip Advisor. And let me just say that that hotel truly did not disappoint.

I enjoyed spending time outdoors during our second day. I have never stayed in a place in Baguio as charming as this hotel.

The room is built to fit a queen-sized bed, a dining table for two, a kitchen, and a small living room inside. Considering all its components, we still had ample space to walk around inside the room. This is perfect for when we bring Lex with us next time.

I love love love this bed super!! If I may say so, this bed is at par with the beds of 5-star hotels in Manila.

This is the bathroom. White tiles, a toilet, a faucet, and a hot and cold shower. It's as simple as it can be. Shower area is a bit small for my taste, especially when I have a baby to bathe, but everything's working well so that's good enough for me.

The hotel has a cozy restaurant that serves buffet and a la carte food. If I may be honest, there is really nothing special with the food. What hooked me about this restaurant though is the service. They have superb service! Like, they really do wait on you. We didn't have to wave our hands like madmen to get their attention.

The best of Azalea...
... the space! I love the fact that babies/kids have enough space to play/walk/crawl around.
... the price. If you think a stay here costs an arm and a leg then you're mistaken. For everything included in the package, you really get more than what you pay for.
... the service. Top-notch!
... the ambiance and overall feel. The place is modern but still looks and feels very homey.

I highly recommend staying at Azalea Residences in Baguio. Should you like to book, try researching for the lowest rates online. Agoda and Travelbook are just two of the online booking websites I use. They're certified legit and they really do offer the lowest rates! So head on to those websites now and start planning your staycation this holiday season.

[reposted from iamsuperjen] 11.20.11 The search for the perfect Fix

I just got Studio Fix-ed!

I've been meaning to get a much-needed haircut for weeks now and for the same amount of time, I've been plagued by the same eternal question: where? and from who?

I heard about Alex Carbonell some years ago from Bianca Gonzalez's blog. Now I've always admired Bianca's hair since... well, ever since I can remember! But while she constantly plugs Alex in her blog, I haven't actually tried to get his services yet.

For years I went to different salons searching for that perfect stylist but with no such luck. You see, my hair is super maarte. Namimili talaga ng stylist! When I was in Dagupan back in 2006-2009, I only allow one person to cut my hair and that was Joey of David's Salon-Nepo. I had a couple of bad luck with few stylists first before I finally found him but when I did, I almost always go back to him for my routine haircut.

Anyway, I think I hit a home run with Alex because I absolutely love my hair! I didn't know what I was thinking going to different salons, trying out different stylists, when I've known about him all along.

Finally after many hours of soul-searching and internet research reading review after review about Alex, I decided to book an appointment with the master stylist himself.

I don't know if I'm just biased with all the reviews that I've read about him, but there was really something different about him. So let's cut to the chase, shall we? Let me tell you about my own personal experience with THE Alex Carbonell of Studio Fix.

I had a 4:30 PM appointment yesterday. When I arrived, the salon was packed with people! As in! Imagine Bench Fix on a regular weekend, parang ganun! Tipong pag walk-in ka, wala ka nang pag-asang makakuha ng slot for the day. Well yes, Studio Fix may be the big brother of Bench Fix but I never thought na magiging super packed with clients ang Studio Fix given na medyo high-end salon siya. Obviously, I was mistaken. Dun ko lang nakita first-hand how in-demand Alex really is.

I was called in for pre-haircut rituals after 30 minutes of waiting. I didn't mind since there were a couple of magazines that I can leaf through in the receiving area and they offered me a drink while waiting. This is a plus since other salons only offer the client a drink while being serviced. Anyway. On my way to the washing area, I passed by Alex and he said "Hi, Jen! I'm Alex."

Promise, nadistort ata yung pag-iisip ko that moment kasi no other stylist did that to me before. Parang, for a lack of a better term, na-"starstruck" ata ako kasi I used to only see pictures of Alex in the internet and now he's here right in front of me, talking to me! I don't know, basta there was really a surreal feeling sa mga ganung moments. Hahaha!! I felt kilig! I wasn't able to do anything but smile a very shy smile and murmur a barely audible "hi". Akalain mo yun? Lumabas talaga ang hiya ko?! Amazing!

Then he followed me to the washing area and talked to me some more. He instantly noticed that my hair was thin and politely confirmed if I had it chemically treated. I said yes but I have no intention to chemically treat it anymore because my hair is thinning already.

I like it that he paid attention to my hair pre-washing because I think that's what stylists should look at before they cut their client's hair. Kasi how would they know kung ano yung totoong bagsak ng hair ng client nila if it's already wet diba? How would they know if a certain hairstyle will work or not sa texture nung hair ng client? Anyway, I don't know if Alex does that to all his first-time clients but I certainly am glad he did it to me. Plus points! :)

My original plan was to get a haircut only but since I was already there, I decided to have my hair colored as well. Studio Fix offers organic hair coloring (no ammonia!), which is perfect because it doesn't itch and it doesn't have that funny after-salon treatment smell. And it's okay for chemically-treated hair.

photo (2)

Alex decided to give me a darker shade of brown but a lighter shade than my original hair color since he assessed that my hair is too dark for my skin tone. I gave him complete authorization on what to do with my hair. He knows best, I figure.

e050d2fc132211e1a87612313804ec91_7

The finished product. You can't really tell the difference since it's not your hair but I can! The color is a subtle shade of dark brown and it actually is lighter than my natural hair color. Best thing about it? My gray/white hairs are completely gone!

My hair was cut after coloring. Alex asked me what style I want and I said any style as long as it's not too short since I'm trying to grow my hair long. In my head, a hairstyle is forming in my imagination: shoulder length, no obvious layers, side swept bangs... I didn't tell him any of that but quite surprisingly, it's exactly what I got! Voila!

photo (13)
I am a certified Alex Baby!

Alex also gave me tips on how to care for my hair. He said that protein is the nutrient our hair needs in order to be healthy. So we should eat a lot of beef and other food rich in protein. Drinking multivitamins helps in keeping hair healthy too! So I guess that's another reason to stock up on multivitamins! For my naturally wavy hair, applying leave-on conditioner helps tame the frizz. No more rebonding or perming or any other chemical treatments with ammonia that makes my hair fall off. Organic hair coloring is okay.

Overall, I am very pleased with the services I got from Studio Fix. I definitely recommend Alex Carbonell and Studio Fix to anyone who wants an amazing and memorable salon experience. :)

[reposted from iamsuperjen] 12.30.10 My Christmas Curls

the desire to have my locks permed started when a friend curled my hair at our departmental Christmas party. i’ve been wanting to get my hair curled for the longest time but i didn't know where to go to achieve the kind of curl that I want. the last time i went out to get a perm, my hair was so curled up that i had it straightened after a month because i didn’t like how it looked. needless to say i was a bit traumatized by the experience.

so as I was saying, i loved the way my friend curled my hair at our party. i had big wavy curls that flowed around my neck, which is perfect because my hair length is neither too long nor too short. in the next few days, i toyed with the idea of getting a perm for the second time in my life. i vowed that this time though, i would do proper research before i subject my hair to perming chemicals. i wouldn't go to any salon just like i did the last time.

i searched the internet for details and asked people in facebook for any helpful information about digiperm. good thing the internet is swarming of digital perming facts and i am lucky to have friends who were kind and generous enough to give out information and reply to my query in fb. a few days later, i booked an appointment at Be@utybrick Hair Art Studio for an afternoon of digital perming madness.

why Be@utybrick?

Beauty Brick Hair Art Studio

i was actually eyeing Tony & Jackey at first but a former officemate recommended this salon. i haven’t heard of it before in my life so I consulted Mr. Google about it. i liked what i saw!

another reason why i chose Be@utybrick instead of T&J is because of its great service. according to threads i’ve read on the internet, Be@utybrick is supposedly A+ in terms of service so i would really, really like to try that firsthand.

but the most important reason of all and this made me really go to Be@utybrick instead of T&J is the price. Be@utybrick delivers the same kind of service at a more affordable price (3k+ vs. 4k+). so really, i consider their pocket-friendliness a big , big plus. here are photos after the jump.

this is it!

here I am when my curls are being done. I usually bring my own books whenever I’m at the salon because treatments get so tagaaaal!

reading The Lightning Thief
there's Mr. Shin!
a close-up shot on the machine

oohhh curls!
there's Mr. Shin styling my hair

of course once I shampooed my hair, the curls became a bit loose. i kind of expected that to happen because i digipermed my hair just one month after i had it straightened. Mr. Shin warned me about it too. curls tend to last longer in virgin hair, he says. whatever! i still love my curls coz it looks like i have this gorgeous mermaid waves. i’m definitely, definitely going back to Mr. Shin next time around. :)

Overnight at The Boutique Bed and Breakfast

Around a month before the long weekend, I booked an overnight stay at The Boutique Bed and Breakfast in Tagaytay. This is as far as Mon and I are going to get in terms of vacation this year since we have been saving money for more important things.

Anyway, I was in charge of looking for the perfect accommodation for us when I remembered a blog I read sometime ago regarding The Boutique. I read so many reviews and quite honestly, some of 'em weren't good, though some really raved about the place! I decided to follow my instinct and booked 'em anyway since I read from the reviews that The Boutique had been constantly improving the place and their service. And boy, did I make the right decision!

If I were to rate this using a 1-10 scale, 10 being the highest, this would be a whopping 11! 12 sana if the security guard on the parking lot paid attention to (a.k.a assist) the cars trying to park. 13 if they gave us more espasol. :))))

Ok, before you expect too much, I have to say this. I am not a picky traveler. I don't rate things based on a certain standard. I simply rate them based on my experience and I don't look for much. I am very easy to please, well, at least that's what I think.

Here are pictures after the jump.

DSC_0052
Our room was as dreamy as it can be!

The lovely bed and breakfast has seven rooms we can choose from. Each room is named after an emotion. I Escape, I Surrender, I Love, I Dream, I Desire, I Dare, and I Lust. The look and feel of each room is patterned to the emotion. The room I chose was I Dream. I chose this because I love the interior, which is all white and everybody knows I love the color white!

DSC_0154
White! White! White!
DSC_0045
I look weird. Hahaha! Was watching TV here, I think.

The first thing I loved about the room is the bed and the maaaaany pillows it has! In the picture, I was literally swimming in pillows! As soon as the service crew left us, I put my bag down and run to the bed and dived with an ecstatic AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! Mon was laughing at me the whole time! :)))))

DSC_0048
All smiles!

I was so lazy to get up, as lazy as the bear I was holding, who did nothing but sleep all the way through the vacation. Hehe!!

DSC_0055
The espasol was to die for! Yumyum!

Part of the package is welcome drinks. I didn't know there was welcome food too so this was quite a surprise. They gave us espasol with chocolate dip. Aaaaannngggg saarraaaappp!!! The espasol wasn't enough though. I wanted more!

DSC_0058
I'm famished!

Mon was taking a picture of me the whole time that when he finished taking pictures, the espasol was all gone! Hahahahaha!!! Who says I'm demure??? If you do, then you're probably not my friend. Hahahaha!!! If you insist, why thank you!

DSC_0065
Lunch overlooking Taal, why not?!

We ordered food from the famous Hawaiian Barbeque restaurant downstairs. We would've eaten there if there wasn't too many people! Grabe, may waiting list pa! That's how famous the food there is. But nonetheless, it was perfect coz we had lunch in our own veranda, just the two of us. More romantic! :)))))

DSC_0070
The Kahlua Pork Belly

This is what we ate. The Kahlua Pork Belly. We loved it! It was just enough for us two. We also had a refreshing Mango Smoothie. Mon loved the Smoothie. He says it tasted as if they blended ripe and green mango together. I think they just used ripe mango that was not so ripe yet. It was yummy, nonetheless.

DSC_0074
At this point, he was really hungry na but I forced him to smile while I take his picture!

Who's that pogi boy over there?? None other than my main man, my dear kambal, my HoneyMon! Mon made my life easier that day. He did everything for me. He was like my yaya and boyfriend in one! It felt like I was being courted all over again. Hehe!

Burp!

This is what happens when two stomachs are deprived of food in the morning. There is nothing left except for the fat!

After lunch, it was my time to take pictures so I took some key items in the room and snap! snap! snap!

Our funny welcome note.

First of all, we're not married yet and second of all, I don't wear the pants in this relationship! But of course, the crew doesn't have a way of knowing that since it was I who booked the accommodations and all. :)

The breakfast slip

This is where we put our choice of breakfast for the next day. It needs to be hanged in the door knob outside the night before. We had a choice of Continental, Hawaiian, Filipino, and American Breakfasts. It also includes 2 drinks for each person, one hot and one cold, and a choice of fruit for dessert. :)

One thing I loved about The Boutique is that all guests are given the opportunity to choose their own toiletries. They have their own line of body bath and beauty essentials called "Pamper Me". As we checked in, we were led to a small room where we can choose our own scent of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, and room scent. Mon loved the scent of soap I chose for him! It was Peppermint, I think.

The basket also includes a laundry bag, which I found very useful!

Mon is watching Gossip Girl! Would you believe???

A knock on the door indicated that our masseuse had arrived! The accommodation package included a complimentary 10-minute facial cold stone massage or foot massage. We chose the facial massage and boy, was it cold! No pictures, though.

Sitting pogi!

Mon loved the bed. It was so comfortable and big! With different kinds of pillows, big and small. I think Baby Bear loved the bed too, dawnchatink?? :)))

Had a Gossip Girl marathon right here.

Mon and I are big TV buffs. Yes, we have different tastes in TV shows. I watch The Vampire Diaries and he doesn't. He watches 24 and I don't. But there are some TV shows we both like, like The Big Bang Theory and Glee and surprisingly, Gossip Girl!

The luckiest girl with the sweetest guy!

We're picture addicts too! Well, not as much as others but yeah, we love taking pictures of each other and of ourselves together. That's a pretty blurry one up there, though.

Here's Mon, carefully choosing some movies to watch.

After the Gossip Girl marathon during the day and watching some bit of news, we went to the DVD library to borrow some movies. I chose New Moon and Mon chose Titanic ...because I've never seen Titanic before. Hahahaha!!!

The famous Hawaiian Barbeque's Baby Back Ribs!

We had dinner in our room coz just like lunch time, the restaurant downstairs was packed! This was kind of a bummer really coz I wanted to try eating in the restaurant that night. But, oh well. It was our fault coz we didn't call the front desk to reserve ahead of time.

Dinner in bed while watching New Moon!

After dinner, Mon took a shower and was ecstatic to find guest robes in the closet! He gamely posed for pictures! He looked kinda Japanese-y right here. I kinda freaked out. Hahaha!

Guess who loved the bathrobe???

Native Hot Chocolate with Churros

At around 10pm, our "midnight snack" arrived! This was also included in the accommodation package. So you see, with all the food we had eaten, from the welcome drinks and espasol to the kalhua pork belly to the baby back ribs to the midnight snack, we never starved since we arrived. There was always food! Oh, I almost forgot, there was also a bedside nibbler in the room, which I forgot to take a picture of because I ate it without remembering I had to take a picture of it first!

We spent the rest of our waking night watching the first half of Titanic. Such a long movie! ...and a tear-jerker too! We slept peacefully that night.

I woke up to this view. Nice, isn't it?

I woke up ahead of Mon and this is what greeted me on our veranda.

Good morning, sunshine!

Mon finally woke just as our breakfast arrived at 9am in the morning. It was a big and hearty breakfast. It was great!

Our big breakfast

There's our complimentary bread with jam and butter, Mon's Daing na Bangus, my Egg Omelette with Spam, mango for dessert, hot chocolate, and water! The Mango Juice was not captured in the photo.

Hi! My name is Baby Bear!

Guess who finally woke up and joined us for breakfast? Baby Bear is kind of our "baby". He has 2 older brothers, Monmon and Puto, who didn't join us in Tagaytay because they wanted to stay at home. Baby Bear is the most "gala" among the three. He joined us too in our Boracay breakfast, remember?

We watched the second half of Titanic during breakfast. Look who's glued to the TV! Hehe! Then it's time to pack and head for home!

Here's Mon and I, savoring the last minutes of our trip. *sigh*

When we checked out, we were surprised to get a goodbye gift, a tiny gold box full of white and milk chocolate goodies with rice crispies. The box was tied with a red ribbon and has a tag that says "Fall in love all over again at The Boutique."

Our farewell gift from The Boutique staff. One BIG SMILE!!! :))))

Well, I don't know about falling in love all over again because that would mean that I had ceased to fall in love to fall in love again. In my case, I say no need! coz with Mon, I am in love, all the time! :)
