Currently loving: Twinings English Breakfast Tea

Coffee or tea? (or ME?) Haha just kidding. I only give the third choice to my husband, of which I always, always know the answer: coffee. *wink wink*

Wala lang. It's just that the husband and the baby are sleeping right now and I am left with nothing to do on a rainy Saturday afternoon. After a quick errand earlier, we decided to just stay home and rest. I figure it's a good time to catch up on my blogging and for my husband to catch up on his zzzzzs.

If you're following me on Instagram, you already know that I purchased the latest Shopaholic book, Shopaholic to the Stars, a few weeks ago. I finished it yesterday and I loved it! Medyo bitin nga lang but at least I know that another book is coming out after this. Yes, ganun siya ka-bitin.

Anyway, in the book, there was a part where Becky, the Shopaholic, invites Elinor, her mother-in-law, for tea at a tea house somewhere in Hollywood. When Becky skims through the menu, she was perplexed to find so many kinds of tea, whereas in England, they just have tea.

That led me to muse over the reason why the Brits love tea so much more than coffee. I mean, what's so special with tea? So I did what I always do when I want to know the answer to something that boggles me. I googled. And the result is a revelation.

I discovered that the Brits usually drink tea with milk (and sugar sometimes), which I don't do when fixing myself a cuppa. Not because I don't want to, but because I don't know! I thought that I just have to dunk the tea bag into a cup of hot water, leave it to brew, then take it as is. Hindi pala ganun! Also, it's better to use freshly boiled water because boiled water helps bring out the flavor from the tea bag.

I applied what I learned and now I can say that I understand why the Brits love tea so much. I can now also understand why Anastasia Steele loves English Breakfast so much.

I can now also say that I'm a reformed caffeine drinker. Although I won't say bye-bye to coffee just yet. I still would love a tall caramel macchiato at any given time.
